Saturday Pennant

Ocean Grove Saturday Pennant teams in 2016-17 were unsucessful in adding silverware to the cabinet after two attempts in the grand finals. Premier Division went down by two shots in a very tight final whilst a similiar story unfolded for the Division five side.

With a handfull of games to go all eight sides had an opprtunity to make the final four. Division 8 and 9 both reached preliminary final stages.

Teams competed in Premier Division, Divsion 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10.

Ocean Grove's Premier Division team climbed the mountain to State Champions in 2013 which was a remarkable feat given it was the Club's first Geelong/Ballarat Premier Division Pennant title.

Premier Division Pennant will be made up of six clubs from Geelong and four clubs from Ballarat in 2017-18.

Division one through to eleven competes against all clubs that make up the Geelong Bowls Region.

2017-18 teams will feature in Premier Division, Div 1,3,4,6,7,8,10.
Saturday Pennant is open to both genders and we encourage bowlers of all ages to have a go.
It's played from 1pm on Saturday's from October through to March.

Midweek Pennant

Three Premierships were added to the trophy cabinet in our Midweek pennant competition for the 2016-17 season.

Division 1 reached the pinnacle which remarkably culminated in the second Victorian State Pennant Title for Ocean Grove. Going into the second half of the season languishing second bottom of the ladder the team turned the table and never lost a match in the second half of the season. The grand final win against Highton led to the State Pennant where the side remained undefeated clinching the final against Benalla.

Ocean Grove have proved their strength in the Midweek Pennant competition with Division Two doubling up to also take the flag. Dominant all year, finals no different they took all before them to take the premiership against Geelong Cement BC.

The final flag was our Division four side who were in a similiar situation to the Div One team. Struggling early for form the turn around come and resulted in the third pennant for Ocean Grove.

2017-178will feature teams in Division 1, 1, 3, 3, 6, 7
Midweek Pennant competes on Tuesday’s. Commencing at 10am Midweek Pennant is also open to both genders and available to bowlers of all ages.

Ocean Grove welcomes any new bowlers to come along and join in Midweek and Saturday Pennant competition.
